Aqua Lace Boy Age One

Here is the card I made for my cousin's little boy's first birthday.

I decided to use the digi stamp image, Boy Age One, that I recently purchased from The Clipart Fairy. It's a really cute image and perfect for a little boy. The image was printed onto Xerox Colotech Gold card and coloured using Copic markers:
  • '1st': BG02, BG11. BG32, B00, Y17
  • Hat/Jumper: BG02, BG11, BG32, B00
  • Skin: E00, E21, E51, R20
  • Little Boy: E11, E13
The image panel was then matted onto aqua card.

The aqua stripe paper and aqua glittered bubble paper from the DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Boy mat stack were joined and then wrapped with cream broderie anglaise and aqua Dovecraft grosgrain ribbon and matted onto aqua cardstock.

The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment, from the Papermania Clare Curd Sentiments stamp set, was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black archival pigment ink and matted onto the blue bubble paper and the aqua cardstock.

The floral aqua card candi from Craftwork Cards was added to the card either side of the sentiment panel below the image panel.

I also decorated the inside of the card using a panel of the striped paper and a stamp from the Papermania Clare Curd Sentiments stamp set using ColorBox Celadon pigment ink.

Lilac and Apple Green Easter Basket Kid

Here are my Easter cards for this year. I decided to go cute this year and used one of my recent Clipart Fairy purchases.

The image, Easter Basket Kid from The Clipart Fairy, was printed onto Xerox Colotech Gold card (my choice for Copic colouring) and coloured using Copic markers:
  • Basket: YG11, E31, E35, E39, E57
  • Eggs: YG11, BV00, BV04, BV31
  • T-Shirt: BV00, BV04, V91
  • Bows: BV00, BV04, BV31
  • Skin: E00, E21, E51, R20
Highlights were then added using the Papermania Snow White gel pen.

The corners of the image panel were then rounded using the large XCut corner rounder punch, and matted onto lilac card.

A panel of light green card was embossed using the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and was joined to a panel of the lilac mini polka dot paper from the DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Boy Mat Stack with a length of white woven ribbon and light green organza ribbon.

This was then matted onto a panel of the lilac card.

The sentiment was computer-generated and matted onto lilac card.

I also made a version using Nestabilities classic oval and classic scalloped oval dies but the card looked a bit unbalanced to me.

Aqua The Stork Delivers

Some friends of ours (finally) had their little baby last Wednesday - we will have no excuse to forget that birthday as the poor mite shares a birthday with my hubby now!

The little baby, a boy, is called Max and I just had to use this super-cute image from The Clipart Fairy - especially after what I saw Kerry had done with it.

The digi image, The Stork Delivers, was coloured using Copic sketch markers:
  • Skin: E00, E21, E51
  • Hair: E11, E13
  • Blanket: BG11, BG32, B00
  • Stork - Feathers: E40, E41
  • Stork: Bill/Legs: R20, E40
The corners of the panel were rounded using the large XCut corner rounder punch and then matted onto a panel of aqua card from the DCWV Brights Mat Stack, die cut using a Labels 1 Nestabilities die.

A length of cream broderie anglaise and aqua Dovecraft grosgrain ribbon were wrapped around the join of two patterned papers from the DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Boy mat stack and then matted onto the same aqua card.

A computer-generated sentiment was die cut using a classic circle die from Nestabilities and matted onto a circle of the blossom paper and a scalloped circle of the aqua card.

Three cream paper flowers from the Prima Botanicals Mix were adhered over the bottom left corner of the image and aqua dewdrops (Patti's Pretties) were added in their centres. The sentiment was added over the bottom right corner of the image.

I also decorated the inside of the card, but kept it simple, just using strips of the aqua card and the blossom paper.
