WELCOME

This blog was created to act as a record of the cards and other projects that I have made. It is for both my own reference and to help inspire anyone who wants to take a look.

I'd love it if you'd leave me a comment so that I know what you think of my projects and that you've been to visit!

Anyone can comment, even those who don't have a blog. (Just look for the word 'Comments' under the three little pictures at the end of each post). Readers without a blog can add an anonymous comment, but please leave your name (and docrafts username if applicable) so I know who you are!

Slideshows of all the cards I've uploaded to my blog can be found at the bottom of the page.

Red and Cream Tiddly Inks Mushroom New Home

I needed to make a New Home card for my friend who has just moved back to Germany. Of course, having made the card, I learnt that there were issues with the new house and so they weren't actually moving into it. But, thankfully all the issues have now been resolved and they can now move out of the hotel and into their new home.

I decided that I would make the New Home card using this cute digi image.

The Mushroom House digi image, from Tiddly Inks, was coloured with Copic Sketch markers:
  • Mushroom Roof: E04, E07, E09, R02, R37, R39
  • Mushroom Base: Y00, Y02, Y11, E40, E41, E43
  • Door: E33, E35, E37
  • Window Frame: E35
  • Window: BG10
  • Grass/Leaves/Trees: YG13, YG95
  • Flowers/Sign/Door Mat: R02
  • Pot: E07
  • Shadow: E35, E43
  • Letters: E40

The corners of the image panel were then punched with the large XCut corner rounder. This was then matted onto a panel of cream card and a panel of deep red card die cut using a Nestabilities Labels 1 die.

A panel of the Cream Floral Script paper from the Prima Botanical paper pad was matted onto the red card, both punched with the corner punch.

The sentiment panel was created by stamping the curly frame image from the Papermania Tweet stamp set using Versafine Onyx Black archival pigment ink and the sentiment from the Papermania Mix and Match Scrolls and Sentiments stamp was stamped in the centre using the same ink. The frame was cut out and matted onto the cream and red cardstocks.

The flowers on the main image were then highlighted with Craft Planet Iridescent Sparkle glitter glue.

The frame of the sentiment panel was traced around using the clear Sakura Stardust pen.

The inside of the card was also decorated, using my much-neglected Sizzix Sizzlits Latches die. The rivets of the latches were coloured using the 110 Copic sketch marker and traced over with the clear Sakura Stardust pen.

Here are the blog challenges I am entering this card into:

Back Online in the New House

I'm afraid that this post isn't in the least bit crafty but I wanted to let you all know that I am still alive!!

We finally got back online today. It would have been sooner, but hubby decided to ignore me when I said I thought the router should be plugged into the other socket. We got the BT broadband engineer out and he changed a cable in the junction box or something (I won't pretend to understand it!!) and then saw the router cable and said 'Well, that's probably why it won't work'. He still won't believe me!!!

My craft room is almost how I'd like it. I've managed to palm off some unnecessary furniture into hubby's computer room, which has left me with a bit more space!

I have managed to make one whole card since moving, but haven't got the scanner and printer set up yet, so can't show it to you yet.

However, I was very organized and wrote up a few posts before we moved so I'll try and upload a few when I remember.

Believe it or not, I STILL haven't made any Christmas cards - those Christmas cards I bought back in 2003 up in the card box are starting to look good I can tell you!!!

I reckon if I make a minimum of four cards every day up until they have to be posted out I might manage it!!!

Wish me luck - I'm gonna need it!!!!!

I also wanted to say how good it was to see Leonie on C&C today. It came as a big surprise to me. I'd heard them say last week that they were getting a new craft presenter this week and I was wondering who it was going to be, but I never would have guessed that!!!

I also wanted to say that I think it's about time, actually no, it's well past time that Jedward were voted off X Factor, althought they did manage to sing Rock DJ almost all in tune, but Lucie was much better. I agreed with the Lloyd decision, as it would have been harsh to have been judged on not having any voice at all, but come on, Jedward vs Lucie is no competition!

Right, I'll get off my soapbox now!!

Hopefully I'll be back on regularly soon, so see you then.

Off To Sign For The New House

Well, things are moving apace now. We are off up to Lincoln in the next hour and tomorrow morning we sign for the new house. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they have chosen a nice house for us, but most importantly one that is big enough to fit all our junk, I mean stuff in.

In the nearly eleven years that I've been married, I'm about to move into 5th house, and the MOD have decided that each time they assign us a house it will be smaller than the one before, so I'm hoping they've bucked the trend because we can't fit all our stuff in the one we're in as it is!!!

So, I'll be away until tomorrow evening and then there'll be lots of sorting and packing so I don't know when I'll be back on.

Not sure if Crafting Gill from the docrafts forum comes on here, but I just wanted to let her know that I have made the Wallet Card for the swap, just haven't stamped anything to go in it as yet, and I'm not sure I've got enough white card at the moment so that probably won't get sent out until after we move. I'll be in touch with you soon about that though!!

Well, better go and finish the packing.

Wish me luck!!!
