30-Day Colouring Challenge - Day #3

Here is my entry for Day #3 of the 30-Day Colouring Challenge
I was out all day yesterday so didn't get a chance to do any colouring, but I did today. Yippee!

The image I coloured was from a stamp set that I bought at the Newbury Show on Saturday. I think it was a set of stamps that came free in Creative Stamping magazine but not sure.

Anyway, I began by creating a 'bridge' card. I covered the card front with a beautiful piece of foiled cardstock from the Kaisercraft Up Up and Away paper pad. Then I chopped the right had side of the card front off and a section to the right of that panel the width of the gap I wished to create.

As I was using the Sizzix Mini Filmstrip and Mini Tickets Decorative Strip die, this meant the gap was only 1.5cm.

The filmstrip was diecut using copper pearl cardstock and adhered to the card front. The loose section of cardstock was temporarily taped down using masking tape so it was level with the edge of the card stock and the other side of the filmstrip die was adhered to this piece to complete the card front once again.

A second diecut was added to the inside of the card front to strengthen it.

Now to the colouring part. The hot air balloon image from the stamp set was stamped using Memento Rich Cocoa dye ink and coloured using Copic markers:

Unfortunately, I didn't have quite the right colour to match the papers so I had to experiment with the colours I have.

I also stamped the 'Always Explore' ticket stamp from the Autumn Leaves Ticketed stamp set onto a ticket die cut from Memory Box's Double Ticket die using the Rich Cocoa ink and coloured it with Copics:

The hot air balloon image was fussy-cut and adhered to the card front, along with the ticket.

A strip of the duck-egg blue script paper from the same paper pad was then added to the inside right of the card so that it shows through the 'bridge', along with the narrow strip cut from the card front.

Using the aperture sections of the filmstrip die cut from cream card, the sentiment was stamped using parts of stamps from a selection of the Personal Impressions Paula Pascual sentiment stamp sets (Double Sayings, Mixed Sentiments, All Year Round and Mix and Match Sentiments). One of the panels was adhered through one of the apertures on the inside of the card and two further panels were adhered alongside.

To replicate the copper foiling on the patterned paper, four copper card candi were taken and Zig 2-way glue pen was added to the front of them all. When this had gone clear, a sheet of copper foil was applied to the card candi to create foiled card candi. These were added through the remaining apertures on the front of the card. The glue was then also added to a star die from the Penny Black Sweet Wishes stamp set and stamped over the 'TO' word on the inside of the card. Once again, the foiling was added to this.

Mauve and Brown Tilda and Edwin Wedding Criss-Cross Card

This is the first of two wedding cards that I made for hubby's cousin and her new husband.

 

They had an amazing reception on board HMS Warrior. It really was remarkable (if a little dark) eating your meal at the tables in the same conditions as the seamen. The kids thought it was great as well, as they had the run of the ship for the whole evening.

 

The inspiration for this card came from this card by Christine, that you can see on her blog here.

 

 

This is a style of card that I've been wanting to make for a number of years now, especially having seen the wonderful cards that Teresa makes!!!

The card in question is a criss-cross card, that actually requires a stand in order to actually stand up, or needs to be leant up against the wall.

Two pieces of craft card were cut to 5.75" x 11.5" and scored in half to create two 5.75" square card blanks. The upper triangle was then cut away from each piece, one on the left flap, the other the right. The two pieces were then adhered together in the centre to create the basis of the criss-cross card.

Each of the front panels were then decorated with mauve card and striped patterned paper from the HOTP Vintage paper pad. A length of ivory lace was then attached to the inside of both of the flaps.

The next step was to stick down the two flaps, but ensuring that they created a pocket to enable a tag to be slotted into the card at a later date. This was done by adding red-liner tape to the lower edge of the left flap and adhering down to the centre panel. The right hand panel had red-liner tape added to the lower edge and a little way up the diagonal side.

 

The image, Classic Bridal Couple by Magnolia, was then stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured using Copic markers:

The image was diecut using a Classic Oval Nestabilities die and matted onto a Kraft oval and mauve Scalloped Nestabilities Oval.

 

A length of mauve satin ribbon was wrapped around the whole card and the image panel adhered on the front of the card. A bow was tied in a length of the ribbon and added to the side of the image panel.

 

 

A bouquet of paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts were then added to the left of the image panel, which were dusted in DecoArt Crystal Glamour Dust. 

 

The last step for the front of the card was to add the sentiment. The panel was taken from the Vintage paper pad, and stamped using the 'To Have & To Hold' stamp from the American Crafts Wedding stamp set. A couple of brads were added to the sentiment panel and this was then added below the image panel.

  

To finish the card, a tag was created using papers and tags from the Vintage paper pad. The front of the tag was stamped using a Lili of the Valley sentiment stamp and Versafine Onyx Black archival pigment ink and a flourish stamp from the Autumn Leaves Rhona Farrer Flourishes v2 stamp set, stamped with Memento Sweet Plum ink.

 

The reverse was also stamped using the flourish stamp and a tag from the Vintage paper pad was added in the corner. The date of the wedding was stamped onto the tag using number stamps from the Labelled With Love  stamp set that was free with the Simply Homemade magazine.

 

 

To accompany the card, a tag was created to go on to the wedding present. This was made using papers from the Vintage paper pad, a short length of lace and the mauve satin ribbon.

 

The bride and groom's initials were added to a tag from the paper pad using a Dovecraft mini alphabet stamp set. A brad to match the front of the card was added to the initialled tag before it was attached to the front of the tag.

 

Green And Beige Eiffel Tower

I thought it was time to add a masculine card to my blog.

 

This is the card that I made for my dad this year, using the Dovecraft Sweet Paris papers and matching stamps.

Firstly, a couple of strips of different papers from the Dovecraft Sweet Paris were cut and added to the left side of the card blank. A few lengths of cream crochet thread were then wrapped around the papers and tied.

Next, the front of the card was masked off using a scrap of paper die cut with a Nestie circle. Then the circle area was blended using Tim Holtz Antique Linen and Bundled Sage distress inks.

Whilst the mask was still in place, the flourish stamp from the Autumn Leaves Rhona Farrer Flourishes v.2 was stamped using the Bundled Sage ink. The French Text background stamp from the Bo Bunny It Is Written stamp set was also stamped using the Tim Holtz Forest Moss distress ink as was the Paris Postmark stamp from the Stampers Anonymous Visual Artistry stamp set.

Next, the mask was removed and the flourish stamp was stamped across the circle using the Antique Linen ink. The Fleur de Lis stamp, from the Dovecraft Sweet Paris Eiffel Tower stamp set, was stamped into the circle using the Forest Moss ink, but coloured over using Copic marker YG95 as it didn't show up enough. This was also covered with Ranger Glossy Accents to make it stand out even more.

Next the Eiffel Tower image from the same stamp set was also stamped over the edge of the circle using the Forest Moss ink.

The sentiment was composed using stamps from two stamp sets. The 'Happy' stamp was from the Elzybells Swirly Sentiments stamp set and the 'Birthday' stamp from the Kaisercraft Birthday stamp set. Both were stamped using Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress ink.

 

The inside of the card was also masked and inked and stamped to match the front of the card.

 

 

The sentiment, from the Dovecraft Sweet Paris Sentiments stamp set using the Pumice Stone ink. 

Green and Brown Lookin' For Clues

Well, another card made with a beautiful digi image.

This one was made using the Lookin' For Clues image from Mo's Digital Pencil.

The image was coloured using Copic sketch markers:

The image was then die cut using a classic oval Nestabilities die and matted onto a copper oval and dark green big scalloped oval.

Two corners of a panel of the Fossil paper, from the Basic Grey Archaic paper pad, were rounded using the large XCut corner rounder and matted on the copper paper and green cardstock. A panel of the Passe paper, also from the Archaic paper pad, was matted onto the copper paper and centred on the card blank.

The tickets, from the Autumn Leaves Ticketed stamp set, were stamped onto the Earth Worm paper from the same paper pad using Memento Rich Cocoa dye ink. Using a small hole punch and a perforating blade, the strips were transformed into tickets. Copper wire was wound around a pricking tool and attached to the reverse of the tickets and the oval panel.

The panels were then added to the card blank and three green buttons were threaded with metallic copper thread and added in the bottom right hand corner.

Green and Terracotta Penny Black Cupcake Mice Anniversary

Here is the card I made for my hubby for our anniversary. Unfortunately, due to us moving house the day after, it didn't really get any mantlepiece time!! So, I packed it with the 'going to Ireland' stuff and put it up at the in-laws!!
This was an unusual colour combination for me but I really liked the plaid paper so coloured everything to match it.

The Cupcake Box Mouse image, from the Penny Black Piece Of My Heart stamp set, was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black archival pigment ink to the left of the panel and the single mouse from the Mice Chasing Cat stamp from the same set was stamped to the right, masking off the extra detail from the image.

The images were coloured using Copic Sketch markers:

• Box: G05, YG17, E07, YR02, C4
• Cupcake Cases/Ribbon: E07, YR02
• Cupcakes: E57, E07, YR02, E41
• Label: YG11, YG17, G05
• Shadow: N3, E41

The cupcakes were then highlighted with Anita's 3D Gloss.

The sentiment from the same stamp set was then stamped into the tag on the image using ColorBox Terracotta pigment ink.

The edges of the panel were then stamped using the heart border stamp from the Autumn Leaves 'On The Edge' stamp set and the Terracotta ink.

The image panel was matted onto terracotta card from the Core'dinations Elements card pack, and onto a panel die cut from green card from the same pack using a Mega Curved Rectangle die from Nestabilities.

A strip of the Pistachio Almond paper from the Basic Grey Two Scoops paper pad was matted onto the terracotta and green cardstocks and then across a panel of the Waffle Cone paper from the same paper pad.

The image panel was matted to the top of the card and three orange card candy, from Craftwork Cards, were coloured with Copic markers (E07), and added below the image along the strip.

The circle sentiment, from Aud Designs, was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink and coloured using the Copic markers:

This was die cut using the standard circle Nestabilities die and matted onto circles of the terracotta and green cardstocks. This was then adhered in the bottom right corner of the card and highlighted with Anita's 3D Gloss.

Lilac and Olive Build-a-Flower Swirls

Here's a card I made last year following an idea in a magazine. If I find out which one it was, I'll update!

Plum and Lilac floral border paper from the Papermania 'The Big One' Temptations paper pad was attached to the upper part of the card blank and a panel of lilac paper was added below. A length of olive green grosgrain ribbon was attached over the join.

Using the Autumn Leaves Build-a-Flower stamp set, a flower was created by stamping on the lilac paper using Versafine Imperial Purple archival pigment ink. The petals were then overstamped using another of the build-a-flower stamps and the 'Happy Birthday' Multi-text stamp by Whispers using the ColorBox Eggplant pigment ink to create the patterns on the petals.

A swirly flourish was stamped over the edge of the lilac paper using a stamp from the HOTP Swirls stamp set and the Versafine Spanish Moss archival pigment ink.

The stamped petals were adhered to the back of a circle of olive green card cut using a Nestabilities circle die. The flower was attached over the ribbon and a clear faux gem was added in the centre of the green circle.

The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment, from Whispers,  was stamped using the Imperial Purple ink.

Clear faux gems were then added along the edge of the lilac paper.

Red and Black Silhouette Cat

This card has been shamelessly copied from one made by Katy Fox in the June 2010 issue of Craft Stamper magazine. I've used different papers and swirl stamps but the card looks very similar to the one that Katy made.

The cat image, the free stamp from Craft Stamper magazine designed by the team at Katzelkraft, was stamped onto white card using Versacolor Black ink and heat embossed using Heat It Up! Black Sparkle embossing powder.

The image was then die cut using a standard circle Nestabilities die, and a swirl image, from the Autumn Leaves Rhona Farrer Flourishes v1 stamp set, was stamped around the edge of the circle using Versafine Smokey Gray archival pigment ink. The edges of the panel were then distressed using Tim Holtz Black Soot distress ink.

This was then matted onto a scalloped circle die cut from the Red Cabbage Rose Flourish paper from the Papermania Red Hot Capsule Collection pack, also distressed with the Black Soot ink.

The card blank was partly covered with a panel of the Black Clover Leaf paper, from the Papermania Monochrome Capsule Collection pack. A strip of black paper was punched using the XCut Diamond border punch and adhered to the reverse of a panel of the same red paper used for the scalloped circle and adhered below the black patterned paper.

The sentiment, the accompanying stamp to the cat image, was stamped using the Versacolor Black ink and heat embossed with the black sparkle powder. This was also overstamped with the swirl stamp and the Smokey Gray ink and distressed with the Black Soot ink.

Three black card candy, from Craftwork Cards, were heat embossed with the black sparkle powder and placed in the top right corner.

TIP:
To heat emboss the card candy, I found the easiest way to do it is to add a small piece of double sided tape to the end of a pencil (preferably not painted) and press the card candy onto it. Tap the card candy into the inkpad you wish to use until the candy is covered in the ink than dip the candy into the embossing powder.


Tap off the excess embossing powder and heat, turning the pencil as the embossing powder starts to melt. Once the embossing powder has all melted, leave to cool for a few seconds then remove from the pencil - the heat will have softened the tape a little, making it easy to peel away. You can then re-use the tape if you need to do multiple card candy pieces.

Teal, Pink and Turquoise Bumble Bee Gorjuss Girl

This is one of my favourite Gorjuss Girl images. This image was stamped at Julie's house last August using one of Julie's stamps! I really can't believe how long ago that was now - over 13 months!!!

The Bumble Bee Gorjuss Girl image was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black archival pigment ink, coloured using Copic sketch markers:

• Skin: E00, E21, E51, R20
• Socks/Hearts: R20, YR02
• Dress: BG13, B45
• Wings: BG11, BG13

and cut out.

A panel of white card was cut out and stamped using one of the flourish stamps from the Autumn Leaves  v1 Flourish Rhonna Farrer stamp set and ColorBox Celadon pigment ink. This was then matted onto a panel of blue Core'dinations card die cut using a Labels 1 Nestabilities die.

A panel of the Spumoni paper from the much underused Basic Grey Two Scoops paper pad was cut and the corners punched using the Martha Stewart Double Loops corner punch.

A strip of the Ice-Cream Parlour paper, from the same paper pad, was adhered across the centre of the punched panel and matted on to the card blank.

The Gorjuss Girl image was placed over the white stamped panel and the 'Happy Birthday' words, from the Woodware Jane's Script sentiments stamp set were stamped either side of the image using the Versafine Smokey Gray archival pigment ink and traced over using the Sakura clear Stardust pen.

Holes were punched in two corners of the Label shape using the Big Bite and small teal Papermania eyelets were set in the holes and light blue satin ribbon was knotted through them.

The Gorjuss Girls image was then added to the centre of the panel using 3D foam pads and Craft Planet Iridescent Sparkle glitter glue was added over the wings, small heart and dress hearts of the image.

A white Papermania Imaginisce paper flower was layered over an aqua Prima flower and a small teal Papermania eyelet was added to the centre. A length of the light blue ribbon was knotted and threaded through the centre as a finishing touch.

Brown and Cream Owl and Swirls

Here is the card that I made for my hubby's aunt for her birthday. I don't often use glitter because of the mess I always end up making, but I decided to try it out on this card. The effect was quite good, but doesn't really show up in this picture.

The swirl stamp, from the Autumn Leaves Rhonna Farrer Flourishes v1 stamp set, was stamped onto white card using Versafine Vintage Sepia archival pigment ink, and the owl image, from the Papermania Secret Garden stamp set, was stamped to appear sitting on the swirl, also using the Vintage Sepia ink.

Extra swirls were added to the left of the panel and the swirls and owl were coloured with Copic sketch markers:

 The corners of the panel were then rounded using the large XCut corner rounder punch.

The sentiment, from the Elzybells Swirly Greetings stamp set, was stamped in the top right corner with the Vintage Sepia ink and the edges of the panel were then distressed with Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink.

The swirls were then glittered using Crystal DecoArt Glamour Dust, and the owl was glazed using Anita's 3D Gloss.

The owl panel was then matted onto a panel of brown card die cut using the Labels 8 die from Nestabilities.

A strip of the brown and cream swirl paper from the Papermania Botanical Handmade paper pack was matted onto a strip of the brown card which in turn was matted onto a panel of the Brittle paper from the Basic Grey Bittersweet paper pad.

The owl panel was then matted over the swirl strip and three cream card candy from Craftwork Cards were coloured with the Antique Linen distress ink and added in the bottom right hand corner.

Blue, Pink and Cream Flowery Dressy Miss Anya

Here is my entry to this week's Pink Elephant blog challenge, which has Bright Colours as its theme.

I recently bought two sets of the Miss Anya stamps (Dressy and Love) from someone having a bit of a crafty clear-out so I decided I'd use one of them for this card. I've been after these stamps since they were released but couldn't really justify the cost, so thank you to Sam for having a clear-out and allowing me to get them!!!

The Flowery Dressy Miss Anya image was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink and coloured using Copic sketch markers:

The image was then matted onto pink and blue card.

A strip of the pink mini roses and ribbons paper from the Papermania Blueberry Hill paper pack was matted onto the pink card and across the centre of a panel of the blue and pink bold roses paper from the same paper pack.

The corners of a square of the pink card were punched using the XCut Vine Silhouette corner punch and the square panel of patterned paper was slotted behind the punched corners.

A length of blue organza ribbon was tied around the panel and the Miss Anya panel was attached in the centre.

Two ticket images from the Autumn Leaves Ticketed stamp set were stamped out onto the white card using Versafine Onyx Black archival pigment ink and turned into tickets using the Aud Designs Ticket tutorial. The tickets were coloured using the Copic sketch markers:

and cut apart using a perforating cutter, ripped apart and attached at the corner of the image panel.

Red and Black Flourish Monique

Here is my entry for this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge, which specifies a colour challenge of black, grey and one other colour. I have gone for red as the extra colour.

The card I made is for Natalie to accompany a swap we did. I decided to use the Monique stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie - one of my recent purchases.

I started by stamping the edges of the card blank using one of the flourish stamps from the Autumn Leaves Flourish v1 by Rhonna Farrer stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black archival pigment ink. The edges of the card were than distressed using ColorBox Charcoal Fluid Chalk ink.

A panel of the red cabbage rose paper from the Papermania Red Hot Capsule paper pad was also distressed around the edges using the Charcoal ink and matted onto black linen paper.

A length of dark red organza ribbon was then tied in a knot and wrapped around a strip of the black linen paper and matted onto the red patterned paper.

The Monique image was stamped onto white card using Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink and coloured using the Copic sketch markers.

I was really pleased with the way I got the colour shading on the hat, but not so much with the red tips of the hair - it was harder to get the gradation of colour there.

The flourish stamp used on the card blank was then used to stamp a pattern around the image panel using the Onyx Black ink. This panel was then matted onto red card and the black linen paper.

The circle sentiment, from Aud Designs, was stamped using the Tuxedo Black ink, cut out using the circle Nestabilities die and coloured using the Copic markers.

This was matted onto circles of red card and black paper also cut out using the Nestabilities. A small circle of the red patterned paper was cut using the Nestabilities was added to the centre of the sentiment and a length of the red ribbon was tied through the centre and adhered over the bottom corner of the image panel.

As an added embellishment, and to add a touch of sparkle, black Glitterations circles from Anita's were added in the corners of the red patterned paper panel.

I also decorated the inside of the card, using the red patterned paper and a sentiment panel again stamped with the flourish stamp and a sentiment stamp from the Hero Arts Anytime Messages stamp set, both stamped using the Onyx Black ink. The black Glitterations stickers were again added in the corners of the red patterned paper.

Red and Blue Vintage Lady Easel

Thought it was about time I uploaded a card project, so here is the card I made for my mother-in-law's 70th birthday. She really didn't want to be reminded it was her 70th, so no numbers on this one! Just made it special, so this is an easel card.

I started by decorating the panel that makes up the front of the easel card.

The edges of the card blank were stamped using a flourish stamp from the Autumn Leaves Rhona Farrer v1 Flourishes stamp set and Versafine Crimson Red archival pigment ink. The Vintage Lady image, from the Vintage Ladies stamp from Crafty Individuals, was stamped on cream card using the Crimson Red ink. The image was cut out using the Cuttlebug square stamp die, and matted onto a standard and scalloped square cut using Nestabilities dies.


A strip of blue Moroccan Tile paper from the K&Co The Best of K&Co Too paper pad was punched using the XCut scallop border punch and the edges coloured using Copic marker E07. This was then matted onto a panel of the floral paper, also from the K&Co paper pad. A length of cream lace was wrapped around the panel vertically. The image panel was attached over the lace.

A red silk flower (kindly donated by Alex) was attached in the bottom right hand corner of the panel using a pale blue Papermania pearl brad, and a smaller brad was attached to the blue border strip.
Using the See D's Alphabet stamp set, the word MUM was stamped along the border strip using the Crimson Red ink. The panel was then matted onto a panel of red card punched using the XCut scallop border punch. The letters, flowers and around the image were highlighted using Rock Candy Distress Stickles. This panel was then added to the front of the easel card.
I then started work on the inside of the card. I began by adding the flourish stamp around the edge of the card
I then started on the sentiment panel which acts as the anchor for the easel card.
Firstly, the striped frame from the Hero Arts Frames and Messages stamp set was stamped onto cream card using the Crimson Red ink and cut out using a standard square Nestabilities die. The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment, from the Hero Arts Birthday Messages stamp set, was stamped in the centre of the frame. This was then matted onto beige Core'dinations card and a scalloped square, both cut using Nestabilities dies.
A strip of the floral paper from the K&Co paper pad was punched using the XCut scallop border punch and the edges coloured using the E07 Copic marker. This was matted onto a panel of the blue Moroccan Tile paper. This was then matted onto a panel of red card punched using the XCut scallop border punch. Rock Crystal Distress Stickles were added to the sentiment panel.

Blue and Black Sarah Kay Spring Blossoms Easel

This card was inspired by a card that Alex made during a friendly cardmaking get-together at Julie's last year. I've been wanting to have a go at this technique ever since and finally got around to doing it the other day. Hopefully you'll like the results.

I shall be entering these cards into the Cute Card Thursday blog challenge, #107, which has Mono Mania as it theme this week.

I started by stamping the Sarah Kay Spring Blossoms image from Stampavie onto 300gsm watercolour paper using Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress ink and the colour was then dragged out using a damp paintbrush. Extra colour was added to areas to add shadow.

The image was cut out using the Mega Rectangles Nestabilities die and the edges were coloured using the Faded Jeans ink and cut and dry foam, leaving the die in place to create a white border.

A larger mat was cut from dusky blue card and the edges colour tinted with ColorBox Charcoal Fluid Chalk ink and stamped with a flourish stamp from the Autumn Leaves Flourish V1 Rhona Farrer stamp set using the Versafine Smokey Grey archival pigment ink.

A panel of blue hessian effect paper from the Hot Off The Press Floral Ultimate Cardmaker's Creative Pack was matted onto a panel of the dusky blue card stamped with the Flourish stamp. A panel of the blue hessian effect flourish paper, from the same paper pad, was matted onto stamped blue card and a length of black sparkle weave ribbon was wrapped around this and matted onto the larger panel.

This was then attached to the easel card and the Sarah Kay image panel was attached onto this.

A circle tag was created from the blue card using the Cuttlebug circle tag and stamped with the Flourish stamp. A white circle to mat on top was cut from the watercolour paper using the Sizzix Sizzlets Circles #4 Frames die. The sentiment was stamped in the centre of the circle using the 'Make A Wish' stamp from the Dovecraft Studio G 'Make A Wish' mini stamp set using the Smokey Grey ink. This was then colour tinted using the Faded Jeans ink and a length of the black ribbon was threaded through the hole and the tag attached to the corner of the image panel.

A touch of sparkle was added to the ribbon and flowers in the image by adding Craft Planet Iridescent Sparkle glitter glue.

To create the stop part of the easel, the blue hessian effect flourish paper was matted onto a panel of the blue stamped card and a length of the black ribbon wrapped around. A sentiment panel was created using the Mega Curved Rectangles Nestabilities die, coloured using the Faded Jeans ink with the die still in place. the sentiment was stamped using the Happy Birthday stamp from the 'Make A Wish' mini stamp set and the Smokey Grey ink.

This was actually the second version of this card that I made. The original version, above, was created without the full front panel, but I decided it needed the panel to make the image stand out more.

A6 Green and Copper Landmarks

Here is another card I made using the London, New York, Paris, Rome stamp from Crafty Individuals. I actually made them at the same time but forgot to upload this version.

The image was stamped onto the orange brushstroke paper from the K&Co Basic Grey Sublime paper pad using Versafine Vintage Sepia archival pigment ink. This was cut down to two images and matted onto green paper and copper mirror card and also matted onto the copper mirror card.

A panel of green paper was embossed using the Cuttlebug hinge border embossing folder and colour tinted using the ColorBox Chestnut Roan fluid chalk ink.

A border was stamped around the edge of a panel of the green paper using a stamp from the Autumn Leaves On The Edge stamp set and the Vintage Sepia ink. I was forced to buy these having seen what Alex did with them at our little get-together in August.

The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment, from the Papermania Just For You stamp set, was stamped below the image using the Vintage Sepia ink.

The inside of the card was also decorated using the border stamp from Autumn Leaves stamp set and the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment stamp.

Green and Copper Landmarks

This is my entry to this week's Mojo Monday Blog Challenge, which follows a sketch from Mojo Monday as shown below.

 

And here is the sketch that I followed:

The Landmarks image, from Crafty Individuals, was stamped using Versafine Vintage Sepia archival pigment ink onto the orange brushstroke paper from the K&Co Basic Grey Sublime paper pad and matted onto green paper and copper mirror card (which hasn't scanned on very well).

Panels of the green paper were embossed using the Cuttlebug hinge border embossing folder, and the ColorBox Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk inkpad was swiped over the top to pick out the embossed details. These were then matted onto the copper mirror card.

A panel of the green paper was stamped around the edge using the Fleur de Lys border stamp from the Autumn Leaves On The Edge stamp set and the Vintage Sepia ink. A panel of the collage script paper from the Sublime paper pad was matted onto the green paper and then across the bottom of the large green panel.

The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment, from the Papermania 'Just For You' stamp set, was stamped using the Vintage Sepia ink onto a piece of the green paper and matted onto the copper mirror card.

I also decorated the inside of the card using the Fleur de Lys border stamp with the Vintage Sepia ink and a strip of the orange brushstroke paper.

Blue, Green and Yellow Sailor Edwin

This is my entry to this week's Sketch and Stash blog challenge (#18). This is another of the NEW blog challenges that I discovered the other day and I love the idea behind this one.

The idea is to use something new and something that's been neglected from your stash. Well, I'm sure we've all got LOADS of neglected items, especially those ones we had to have but once Mr Postie brought them we had no idea how to use them!!!

Well, the sketch looked like this:

My new item is actually the papers, which are from the Making Memories Fresh Anthology Sydney paper pad. I bought these the other week, and was inspired to buy these (amongst others) by my visit to Julie's. The one I was looking for was the Ruby pad, but saw these and had to get them as well.

My neglected items are the buttons (that I bought about 4 years ago).

The Edwin stamp and the ticket stamps are also slightly neglected as this is the first time I've used the Edwin stamp that I bought months ago, and the ticket stamps that I haven't used as much as I should have!!

Anyway, the Sailor Edwin image from Magnolia was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black archival pigment ink and watercoloured using Whispers Brushstrokes markers and was then matted onto blue cardstock.

A panel of the blue stripe paper from the Sydney paper pad was attached to the left of the card blank. Two small green eyelets were set in a strip of the blue polka dot paper and attached across the centre of the card. The Edwin image was then layered over the patterned paper.

Green hemp cord (that I bought in Hobbycraft if you're interested) was threaded through two green buttons and layered onto the green brocade paper from the Sydney paper pad and added at the corners of the Edwin image.

Two of the stamps from the Autumn Leaves Ticketed stamp set were stamped using the Onyx Black ink on the green brocade paper. Holes were punched at the corners of each of the tickets using the Big Bite and then cut up. To see the tutorial on doing this from Aud Designs, click here. It's very clever.

I also decorated the inside of the card using strips of the patterned papers used on the front of the card and the Happy Birthday sentiment was taken from the Papermania Clare Curd Sentiments stamp set using the Onyx Black ink. Faux stitch doodling was added around the panel of paper to emphasize the edges.

This card was made for a friend with not a hint of irony. As you can see, there is a ticket that says 'Totally Perfect'. Well, he's not, but he thinks he is. He also thinks he's always right, but I didn't have a ticket that said that!!!
