WELCOME

This blog was created to act as a record of the cards and other projects that I have made. It is for both my own reference and to help inspire anyone who wants to take a look.

I'd love it if you'd leave me a comment so that I know what you think of my projects and that you've been to visit!

Anyone can comment, even those who don't have a blog. (Just look for the word 'Comments' under the three little pictures at the end of each post). Readers without a blog can add an anonymous comment, but please leave your name (and docrafts username if applicable) so I know who you are!

Slideshows of all the cards I've uploaded to my blog can be found at the bottom of the page.

Some Cards For Young Girls

As promised, here are the cards I made for a couple of young girls.

One uses a stamped image and the other a Craft Planet sticker. I did get a bit snobby about using stickers, but I think for children they are very useful as the colour intensity is usually very good, a result I cannot achieve with watercolouring. If I ever justify the cost of Copics then I might return to my snobby frame of mind, but until then.........

New Look Basic Grey Challenge Blog Up And Running!

I've just noticed that the Basic Grey Challenge Blog has been revamped and is offering some great blog candy.
There really is a bumper pack of goodies up for grabs, and there's a full list of what's available, including Prima flowers, HOTP papers and surfaces, Basic Grey fibres and lots more.
To be in with a chance of winning, you just need to add a link to the blog candy over on your blog, then add your name and blog address to Mr Linky on the original post here.
This blog candy will end on Friday the 21st of August at 10.00pm UK time, and the winner will be announced the following day when the new Basic Grey Challenge is posted.
I would wish you all good luck, but obviously that would diminish my own slim chances of winning, so I won't!!!!

Some Cards For The Boys

Well, I have finally managed to get all my cards sorted over in my photobucket album, so now I can actually start uploading some pictures and info here.

I've actually been rather productive (for me!) since I got out of hospital. Bearing in mind my craft room was packed up for two weeks of those five weeks whilst the in-laws were visiting, I've made TWENTY cards (all different) since the 23rd June. That's almost a card a day!!

Anyway, the first card post is to show the cards I made for my cousins and family friends, aging from 9 to 15. All of the images were watercoloured using the Whispers Brushstroke markers.

Blue and Yellow Cuddly Buddly Rugby Player

I took a little artistic licence with this one as you really can't tell if he is a footbally player or otherwise, so I decided to make a rugby themed card for a real rugby enthusiast in the Leinster colours.

Stamps
Footballer - Cuddly Buddly
It's Your Birthday Scallop Frame - Hero Arts (Birthday Messages set)

Patterned Papers
Papermania Citrus Colossal paper pack

Inks etc
Whispers Brushstroke markers
Versafine Onyx Black archival pigment ink

Die-Cuts/Punches
Circle Nestabilities

The cards are based around a similar design. They would have looked a lot more similar if I'd remembered to cut down the pirate image before matting it up!!!

The next cards I'll upload are the ones I made for some young girls.

I'm back!

Hello there! Well, I know I've been away for a while but I'm back now. The reason for my sudden departure is that I have been unwell.

Following increasingly worsening symptoms of thirst, blurred vision, palpitations and hyperventilating, I was taken into hospital on the 13th June. Turns out, I've got Type I diabetes!!!

I was in hospital for 10 days, on various drips, and now I've got to test my blood glucose levels and give myself two insulin injections a day.

Then, my in-laws came for a 10-day visit, so of course I had to pack up my craft room (AGAIN!!) so I could make up the sofa bed.

Anyway, I quickly got the hang of the injections and I'm still trying to manage my blood glucose levels. My husband very kindly sits and eats sweets, cakes and chocolates in front of me, knowing I can't eat any of them. He even came into the hospital with Twix bars and Fruitellas!!! He's a cruel man! Actually, he was very good. He came to visit me every day I was in hospital (driving from Newbury to Reading every time) and he even came in twice a day whilst I was in the CDU ward for the first two days.

So, I've now got my craft room back and I've been busy making cards. I'll upload a couple of them each day over the next few days.

It's good to be back and I look forward to seeing what you've all been up to on your blogs. I'm sure I've missed out on a few new trends that have taken hold.
