Burgundy Floral Thank You

This card was inspired by a card I saw over on Kerry/Pickle's blog.

I changed the layout a bit but I'm sure you can see the influence!

The picture isn't the best as it was scanned in and I always struggle with white cards and cards with dimension!!

The floral background stamp, from the Non Sequitur Memories of Italy stamp set, was stamped directly onto the card front using Adirondack Currant dye ink.

A length of burgundy grosgrain ribbon was attached across the card blank and a faux bow was created from two lengths of the ribbon.

Just wanted to add a tip on how to make the faux bow.

I created two loops of ribbon from a 9cm and 4cm length of ribbon, joining the loops with narrow double-sided tape. A small piece of double-sided tape was added in the centre of the loops to create two small side -by-side loops in a sort of figure of eight shape. The smaller loop was stuck on top of the larger one and both stuck to the length of ribbon. You could also add a brad in the centre to ensure they maintain their shape.

The sentiment, from the Woodware Jane's Script stamp set, was stamped using the Currant ink above the ribbon.

Green Classical Face and Flourishes

This card was inspired by a card in Craft Stamper magazine, and also by Jules B's take on it.

The face image, from the Non Sequitur Memories of Italy stamp set, was stamped onto the card blank using Versfine Onyx Black pigment ink.
A circle of matching card was coloured using Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters Distress ink and edged with ColorBox Amber Clay Fluid Chalk ink. The image was then stamped onto it, and the circle was attached onto the card over the top of the first image.
A flourish from the Autumn Leaves Rhona Farrer Flourishes v.2 stamp set were stamped directly onto the card blank, as was the word, which was taken from the Clear Choice! Butterflies stamp set.

Flutterby Crafts Design Team Entry - Everything's Coming Up Roses

Here is my entry for this month's blog challenge over at Flutterby Crafts. The theme for this month is 'Everything's Coming Up Roses', and the lucky winner each month will win a £10 voucher to spend in the shop.

The size of this card is 12.5cm square and is made from burgundy card from the Papermill Shop.

The rose was stamped using the large rose stamp from the Non Sequitur Memories Of Italy set, Versafine Crimson Red archival pigment ink and watercoloured using Whispers Cherry Red and Chestnut Brown permanent dye inks from the caddy.

This was matted onto a piece of white card colour tinted with Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters Distress ink and overstamped using one of the flourish stamps from the Autumn Leaves Rhonna Farrer Flourishes v.1 set and Whispers Savoy Green permanent dye ink.

This was matted onto burgundy card to match the card blank.

The corners of the card blank were stamped using the same flourish stamp and Brilliance Moonlight White pigment ink.

The patterned papers are from the Basic Grey Eva paper pad (a purchase from my recent excursion to the Glitter Pot!!).

The decorative corner was created by stamping one of the corner stamps from the Stamps Away Book Plates, Anchors and Corners set on a piece of matching Eva paper and cut out. A paper piercer was used to add holes through the small circles.

Butterfly Farmer Tilda

I made this card with a Tilda image kindly donated by Cleo/Sylvia P over on the docrafts cardmaking forum.

I watercoloured the `Farmer Tilda` image using Whispers Brushstrokes markers and highlighted with Craft Planet Green glitter glue, and cut out.

I created the wooden fence by stamping out the 'Wooden Beam' stamp from the Non Sequitur Memories of Italy stamp set.

Butterfly paper from the K&Co Sparkly Sweet paper pad was layered onto blue paper, and a strip of green paper layered across that, and lilac eyelets added. It was then added to a square card blank.

An oval frame was stamped by selectively inking one from the Whispers Multiple Oval Frames stamp, watercoloured and cut out.

The sentiment is from an Aud Designs set, stamped using ColorBox Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk ink, and watercoloured, and a violet seed bead added to the centre of the daisy.

The flowers are Prima, layered up and a violet seed bead added in the centre.

More Oriental Dragonflies

Having made my brown/green oriental dragonfly card, I decided I liked it so much I'd try it in a few different colours.

So, I went for turquoise



pink/red

and lilac/purple

The patterned papers were also from the Papermania Oriental Spice paper pad (red, blue and dusky plum).

The images were stamped using the ColorBox Pigment inks (Celadon and Aqua, Magenta and Peony and Violet and Lilac), and heat embossed using Heat It Up! Enchanted Gold powder.

The flowers are Prima, except for the Lilac/Purple version which uses both Papermania and Prima flowers.

Brown and Green Oriental Dragonfly

A few years ago I found out from my aunt that my grandfather was quite ill and so I wrote a Get Well card for him. But, before I could get it in the post, he passed away, and I think I've probably still got that card somewhere.

So, as a result, I detest making Get Well Soon cards.

I found out yesterday that an elderly friend of my husband's family is ill in hospital so I've decided to make a Thinking of You card for her instead.

I used a few of the stamps from the Non Sequitur Oriental Collage Elements and Dragonflies set. The dragonfly was stamped and embossed using the Heat It Up! Enchanted Gold powder, and watercoloured using the Whispers Brushstrokes markers.

The leaf branch and quote were stamped using the Whispers Caramel Delight, and a light brown colour wash was given to the rest of the panel.

I layered up a couple of Prima flowers and added a crystal gem to the centre and added to the stamped panel, then matted it on pearlescent copper paper.

The green patterned paper is from the Papermania Oriental Spice pad, also matted on pearlescent copper paper.
